5 DIY Methods To Reuse Plastic Bottles At Your Home

We are all aware of the toxic impact of plastic on the environment. We throw plastic bottles here and there. However, we often forget that they are highly recyclable and reusable. So the next time, before throwing the plastic bottles away from your home, think twice. Let’s take a look at the DIY methods by which you can reuse your waste bottles at home.

1. Soda Bottle Sprinkler: For this one, you need a 2-litre plastic bottle, electric tape, a garden hose and a screwdriver. Firstly, rinse the bottle thoroughly under running water. Then drill 12-14 holes in the bottle using a screwdriver. The water will flow out of these openings. After the holes are drilled, attach the garden hose to the bottle’s opening and use electric tape to secure it in place. Attach the other end of the hose to a tap and start using your newly made soda bottle sprinkler to water the garden.

2. Plastic Bottle Plant Holder: One can reuse their plastic bottle as a plant holder. For this, cut the bottle in half or about half of the way from the neck. The bottom portion will be used as a planter. Paint this bottom portion with acrylic paint. If you have craft materials available at home, such as beads and googly eyes, attach them to the bottle. Add the plant after adding soil to the bottle. It will look aesthetic on your balcony or garden.

3. Plastic Bag Dispenser: For this, take a 2-litre plastic bottle and turn it into a dispenser for your plastic bags. It can be hung on the wall, in the pantry or inside a cabinet door. One can also decorate it so that it looks cool on the wall.

4. Plastic Bottle Supply Cups: Office building waste is one of the leading contributors to the rise of landfills. So, after having a cold soda don’t just toss the bottle try to reuse the plastic bottles to make cups for housing pens and supplies at the office or craft supplies at home.

5. Egg Yolk Separator: One can also use a plastic bottle as an egg yolk separator. Crack an egg into a bowl. Remove the cap from the bottle and pinch slightly. In this way, the egg yolk is absorbed into the bottle and the egg white remains on the plate.
