A lot of people believe that having plants in the home or office can be a source of pleasure. Gardening can relieve stress, boost creativity, increase focus and promote recovery, as per a report on Healthline. The idea of digging up your backyard and filling it with all types of plants is a comforting yet tedious process at times.
During gardening, people often end up making small mistakes due to which even beautiful flowers grow weak and die. Hence, it becomes important for you to avoid some basic gardening mistakes so that you can have a beautiful garden in your backyard.
Give Proper Space: It is advised that whenever you plant or sow seeds, it is highly important to give space between the two plants. Most people think that if they could sow four to five seeds in one pot then they can have more plants in less space. This is the wrong method of gardening. It is possible that plants may grow from these seeds in such a manner but they will be unable to beat fruits or flowers. It is possible that these may also dry up and die.
Lack of Sunlight: Every plant has its own requirement for sunlight and water. If you are keeping outdoor plants indoors or if they are not getting enough sunlight due to any reason, then the leaves of those plants will gradually wither and fall.
Use of Chemical fertilisers: It is advised to not use chemical fertilisers. It can be beneficial for a few days but its use in the long term can be fatal. It also destroys the natural composition of the soil. Therefore, it would be better if you use vermicompost or natural fertilizer only.
Planting in Wrong Season: If you have bought an expensive seed of good quality but you are planting it in the wrong season, then these plants will never flourish. Every plant has its own optimum condition and if it is not sown during the appropriate season then it will not flourish or bear fruits.
Water: It’s important to water the plants but the amount and time should also be taken care of while watering the plant. If you are giving more or less water to the plants then it can harm the health of the plants. You should also avoid watering the plants in sunlight as it can harm the plants too. It is advised that you must water the plants only 1 to 2 hours after sunset or in the morning before sunrise.
