You’ve probably had one of those days where you stare at women wearing stunning heels all day and wonder, “How can they do that?” We have to say, it really surprises us as well.
And you’re in luck if you favour flats over anything with heels for your feet. Because you won’t believe how much it hurts to wear heels all day. The women who are wearing them have most likely become accustomed to having heels on their feet. But, hey, we can’t do that.
But what we can do is ensure that those women take adequate care of their feet before, during, and after wearing those magnificent heels. So, if you’ve been battling with the same issue, keep reading to take care of your feet,
4 Ways to Take Care of Your Feet When You Wear Heels:
Treat blisters properly
You are more prone to suffer blisters on your feet if you wear high heels or tight shoes with an extremely painful grip. After wearing heels for several hours, many women develop blisters. And if you’re one of them, we have to warn you that you’re wasting your time. Blisters are basically wounds that occur when you force your skin to wear anything that is uncomfortable and harmful to it. Heels typically do not provide enough space for your feet, and as a result, you will begin to encounter these fluid bubbles, which should be addressed appropriately.
If you get blisters from wearing heels (as most women do), clean and disinfect your feet. Wear no footwear that is completely closed and does not allow any air to move through your feet. Instead of wearing heels or shoes, opt for flats or sandals. And, remember, don’t pop the blisters!
Prepare to soak your feet
If you suffer discomfort or relief after wearing heels all day (which you will), you can make a soak to gently alleviate the muscles in your feet. Fill a tub or bucket halfway with water and add a few drops of aromatic oils. Lavender, peppermint, and marjoram essential oils are some of the greatest essential oils for healing your feet. You may also add a couple of teaspoons of Epsom salt for some quiet time as your feet recover from a long day. If you don’t have time to do it every day, you can do it at least three times a week.
Book a spa treatment or massage session
As we discussed earlier, wearing heels can be really stressful. However, you will most likely continue to wear them because they complement your clothing. So, once a week, have a spa treatment or foot massage for your feet to make sure they don’t die in the process. It relaxes and rejuvenates your complete body while primarily mending your feet. A trained masseuse will be familiar with your problem areas, and you will leave the session feeling revitalized and ready to face the world again.
Opt for a more comfortable option
Not every heel is uncomfortable to wear, but the majority of them are. But, as we said before, the heels aren’t going out of style, no matter what. So, to avoid long-term foot harm, strive to wear more free and comfy footwear. And we’re not kidding when we say that long-term adverse effects like bone spurs and arthritis are possible. If you’re suffering too much discomfort while or after wearing your favourite heel, it may be time to retire them in favour of more comfortable sandals or flats. There are many comfortable and fashionable footwears you can choose from instead of torturing your feet all week long.
