As the world gears up to find a multi-verse level threat during Avengers: Infinity War – we take a look at the villain of the piece – The Mad Titan – Thanos.
1. Obsessed with Death
For someone looking to seize power, Thanos sure has a creepy obsession with Death. This manifests itself when he kills different planets and civilizations to please the embodiment of Death. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hela was named as the Goddess of Death. Will we see Cate Blanchett reprise her role in Infinity War as well?
2. His daughters are Guardians of the Galaxy
Thanos has many ‘off-spring’ that do his bidding. But, his true loves are his two daughters – Gamora and Nebula. These two characters have been repeatedly seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and are expected to play pivotal roles in Avengers: Infinity War.
3. Thanos controls the Chitauri
An army of shape-shifting aliens with astoundingly advanced technology – the Chitauri army reports to Thanos and his under-ling ‘The Other’. The Chitauri were loaned to Loki (half-brother of Thor Odinson) to conquer Earth during the first Avengers movie.
4. His biggest weakness is his ego
Born on the planet Titan, Thanos subsequently killed the entire population to purge the planet of unworthy people, including his own family. His over-inflated ego and insecurities will be a major plot point of Avengers: Infinity War.
5. His own family wanted him dead
Thanos was devoid of love and emotion, but his background story justifies it. At different points, Thanos’ own family has attempted to kill him – his mother, father and even grandfather have tried to take Thanos’ life from him. No wonder he seems so keen to lay waste to the entire mutli-verse.
