What are the set of attributes or actions that make a man gentlemanly? Someone who is considerate, courteous, dependable, friendly, helpful, just, kind, loyal, modest, respectful, sincere, tactful, trustworthy and unselfish is a “gentleman”.

Open the door for her – It sounds old school, but the gesture never gets old. When you open the door for her, you will be taken for a polite, courteous and chivalrous guy.
Let her take the seat first – It will be great to assist her in settling down onto a chair, or just let her sit first.
Remember the basic table manners – When eating on a date, keep little things in the back of your mind. Table manners such as not resting your elbows on the table, chewing with your mouth closed, etc.are some of the things that differentiate a gentleman from a man.
Don’t touch her or other people’s things – Playing with her bag or other stuff will send an unpleasant message that you have no respect for her or her belongings. If you have to take a look, ask first.
Listen to what she has to say – When she is with you, she wants your 100% attention. It will be rude to not pay attention. Even worse would be to yap away and not let her talk at all.
When drinking with her, drink within your limits – Don’t drink at all or if you have to, be in control. When you know that you won’t be able to hold your alcohol, try not ordering another one.

Give her time for the next meeting – When you ask her out, give her time. Ask her out a few days before the intended date.
Avoid crass or vulgar humour – She is not your friend from school, she might not like you cracking vulgar jokes. Find something else that is wittier to make her laugh.
Call more, text less – This is particularly more important when you have something important to talk about.Calling her up convey your sincerity is better.
When things don’t work out well – When things don’t work out as you had have wanted, don’t leave her a text message telling her how you want to end it. A text, a phone call or an email is not the right way to do it and it is in fact, rude. Meet her in person and let her know what you think about the date/relationship.
