The advantages of tea appear to be limitless and it has often been reported to increase longevity, metabolism and cognitive strength. However, drinking too much tea can be bad. Moderate tea use (less than 3 cups per day) can provide many health advantages. Excessive tea consumption (more than 3-4 cups per day) has been linked with a lot of side effects. 1. Skin Cancer- Studies have shown that drinking too much tea can lead to problems like skin cancer.

3. Allergies- Allergies occur when there are elements in the tea you drink that hurt your body. Cleveland Clinic mentions that it can lead to skin problems like dermatitis which is a general term for conditions that cause inflammation of the skin. Examples of these conditions include atopic dermatitis (eczema), contact dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff). These conditions cause red rashes, dry skin and itchiness among other symptoms.

4. Inflammation and redness of skin- In today’s time, most of the shops sell ginger and cardamom tea. These spices are added to increase the aroma and flavour but may not have a positive impact on everyone’s body. This causes inflammation and redness in the skin.

5. Body Collagen- The caffeine in tea and the nutrients in milk mix to cause the malfunction in the body’s collagen. Consuming more than a normal quantity of it makes you look older at a younger age. This also leads to problems like skin sagging and wrinkles.

6. Disturbs the hormonal balance- Excessive tea consumption affects the hormonal balance in your body and also increases oil production in the skin. Oily skin can clog pores and lead to increased acne breakouts.
