Diwali is around the corner and preparations have already begun with people decorating their homes to deciding the drinks menu for their guests. Hosting someone is a skill which only a few possess. This Diwali, make sure to entertain your guests with their favourite drinks. Here are five alcohol-free drink recipes for those who prefer not to consume alcohol. These options are wholesome and refreshing, and a great addition to parties.

Orange Mocktail

For this beverage, you will require lemon juice, apple vinegar, ginger, mint, and orange juice. Start by mixing orange juice, lemon juice, and apple vinegar in a jug. Slightly crush the mint leaves and add them to release their fragrance. Include ice cubes and small ginger pieces and stir well. Pour the mixture into a glass. If you want it cold add extra ice. Garnish the glass with orange slices and mint, and serve to your guests.

Thandai

Get pistachios, almonds, cashews, sugar, black peppercorns, cinnamon, fennel, cardamom, dried rose petals, watermelon seeds, poppy seeds and saffron for thandai. Mix saffron with lukewarm milk. Boil full cream milk, then refrigerate to cool. Soak cashews, almonds, pistachios, black pepper, and seeds in water for two hours. Blend soaked ingredients with some water for easier grinding. Add cold milk and saffron, give it a final mix, and serve the chilled Thandai in a glass, garnished with rose petals and pistachios.

Cucumber Mint Mocktail

To prepare a cucumber mint mocktail, chop some cucumber pieces, get some mint, powdered sugar, soda, lemon juice, and ice cubes. Blend cucumber, mint, lemon juice, and sugar using a blender. Half-fill a glass with ice cubes, then pour the cucumber mixture over the ice. Top up the glass with soda water. If you have a cocktail mixer, use it to mix well. Garnish with lemon slices and serve it to your guests during Diwali.

Pineapple Drink

You can serve a pineapple drink to your guests at home on Diwali evening. It’s an easy and healthy option. Begin by peeling and cutting a pineapple, then blending it. Add one teaspoon of lemon juice, one cup of coconut water, and some mint leaves, and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into a glass, add ice cubes on top, and your refreshing pineapple drink is ready to be served.

Start by cleaning and cutting mint, ginger and coriander leaves. Place them in a mixer along with fennel, cumin, hing, black salt and sugar. Pre-grind the cumin and fennel. Add water to the mixer and blend to create a paste. In a bowl, place water and ice cubes, then mix in the paste and add lemon juice. Jal Jeera is now ready to be served.
