Ingredients:
1 cup whole white gram
4 cups rice flour
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 teaspoons white sesame seeds
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon salt
Water
Directions:
- Take a bowl and add 1 cup of whole white gram. Rinse it thoroughly with water.
- Transfer the rinsed white gram to a pressure cooker, add 3 cups of water, and cook on high flame for 5 whistles.
- Once the white gram is cooked, grind it into a smooth paste using a mixer. Transfer the paste to a bowl and add rice flour, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Add crushed cumin seeds and white sesame seeds to the rice flour batter according to your preference.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add it to the rice flour batter. Mix well and knead the mixture into a fluffy dough. Add water if needed during kneading.
- Use a murukku maker to shape the dough. Grease a plate with oil and squeeze out the murukku in a circular shape through the maker.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the murukkus until each side is well-cooked. Drain excess oil and serve the snack. You can also store it in an airtight container to maintain its crunchiness for several days.
