Craving Something Healthy And Delicious? Try This Oven Roasted Whole Tilapia Fish Recipe

Tilapia is a weeknight dinner dream for eaters who are fish lovers. The mild-flavoured fish is a nutritious food that cooks quickly, absorbs flavours well, and comes out of the oven super tender. Also referred to as Jalebi fish or Queiloo, Sarkari Meenu or Tyangra, this fish can be part of a healthy and balanced diet as it is lower in sodium, calories and total fat than other processed meats. It is filled with vitamins and minerals like choline, vitamin B12, vitamin D, niacin, selenium and phosphorus.

So, let’s embark on a delightful culinary journey and check out the mouth watering recipe for whole roast tilapia oven roasted on a platter of sliced potatoes and cherry tomatoes served with a Chimichurri sauce.

Ingredients Required:

Tilapia fish (whole cleaned): 1 piece (600-700gm)

Sliced potato: 100 gm

Three colour pepper (dices): 100 gm

Cherry tomato: 15 pieces

Ingredients For Marinating Fish:

White pepper powder: 1/2 tablespoon

Mustard powder: 1/2 tablespoon

Lemon juice:15 ml

Refined oil: 3 tablespoons

Salt: as per taste

Ingredients For Buttery Sauce:

Butter: 50 gm

Parsley chop: 2 tablespoons

Garlic chop:1/2 tablespoon

Chilli flakes: One pinch

Lemon juice: Half a lemon

Salt: as per taste

Method of preparation:

1. Start by descaling the tilapia fish, trimming the fins, cutting them open, and thoroughly cleaning the inside of the fish.

2. Put all the ingredients for the marination together and mix well.

3. Make a few slits on the fish body and apply the marinade all over and inside the fish. Keep aside for half an hour so that the marinated ingredients properly penetrate inside the fish.

4. Now, peel and cut two potatoes into thick slices, and cut three coloured peppers into thick strips. Then, toss these veggies well with some salt, pepper, and olive oil.

5. Moving towards the baking process, take an oven-proof plate and arrange the vegetables on it. Place the marinated fish on these veggies, and place a few slices of lemon on the tilapia fish. Cover the pan entirely with aluminium foil.

6. Preheat an oven to 200 degrees and place the oven-proof plate of fish inside the oven.

7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the fish is well cooked. In the meantime, the slices of potato and vegetables would have become tender to chew.

8. Make the sauce by melting the butter. Add all the other ingredients and whisk well in a bowl.

9. Take out the tray from the oven and lift the fish. Transfer the veggies to a serving plate, and place the fish on top of the veggies.

10. Pour the warm butter sauce on the fish and sprinkle some finely chopped parsley on top to garnish.

Voila! You have an oven-roasted whole tilapia fish ready to be enjoyed.
