South beauty Rashmika Mandanna is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with ‘Mission Majnu’ co-starring Sidharth Malhotra. However, not many know that the actress was first approached for the Hindi remake of Telugu hit ‘Jersey’.
Yes, you read that right! According to reports, the actress was on board with the film. However, she stepped back because she felt that she cannot pull off the role essayed by Shraddha Srinath. Spilling the beans about the same in an interview with a news portal, Rashmika reportedly added that she will not accept any film to which she feels she can’t give her best. According to her, ‘Jersey’ remake was huge. Anyone would do it but then she doesn’t want to come to set and be all tired. She added that the makers of the film deserve more, someone who can give in energy.
The Hindi remake of ‘Jersey’ will star Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. It will also feature Pankaj Kapur in a key role. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed the original, will be directing the remake as well.
The original film starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead. The film revolves around a cricketer, who wants to represent India and be a part of its cricket team in his late thirties.
