Attending events and finding dandruff flakes and hair loss on your shoulder while stroking your hair could be embarrassing. Historically to prevent this problem, people have been using ginger oil to nourish the roots of their hair and keep them healthy.
What is ginger oil?
Ginger oil has been around the block for decades. It promotes hair growth and nourishes the scalp for healthy roots. The parts of ginger that is used to extract oil are called rhizome.
Like any other oil, ginger oil is very concentrated and has a very particular aroma that can be described as strong, warm or spicy.
Ginger oil has several health benefits, which if used regularly can show signs of improvement in nausea, arthritis, digestive upset, colds, and migraines, besides hair issues.
How to use ginger oil to obtain healthy hair?
Step 1: Begin with oiling your hair. Apply a generous amount of ginger oil onto your scalp and strands.
Step 2: Now, gently massage with love until you feel relaxed.
Step 3: Leave it overnight if you have an extremely dry scalp. Otherwise, you may rinse it off after 1 hour.
Step 4: How you wash off your hair after oiling is very crucial. Start with a good quality curd, just like how you marinate chicken, apply curd on your hair and scalp and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Step 5: Rinse it off with lukewarm water so that it doesn’t leave any residue.
Step 6: Shampoo gently so that you can get your bounce back again.
Step 7: Do not forget to apply conditioner to retain shine.
Risk factor
Ginger oil is “generally recognized as safe”, as per the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
However, it is essential to know that concentrated oil should not be consumed or applied directly onto the skin or hair but rather dilute the oil with skin care products or use it as aromatherapy.
