Everyone has a phase in their life where they experience somewhat abnormal hair loss and freak out about it. Did we just define you?
Well, don’t worry. It is completely normal. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have to do anything about it. Hair is a part of your body and it is time you start treating it like that. So as usual, we asked, read, took a walk around the internet and found some important hair loss causes and what you should do to prevent it.
There are a lot of reasons for hair loss and hair thinning. And we are gonna talk about the most common ones in this hair loss causes and prevention blog. So let’s get right to it!
Poor diet and lifestyle
We said it already and we are gonna say it again, your hair is a part of your body and most people don’t take care of it as they should. This includes eating proper food and maintaining a healthy (at least a little healthy) lifestyle. Foods like green leafy vegetables, whole grain, nuts etc. are a natural source of nutrition you can get without even spending too much.
Working out and getting a good night’s sleep for at least 7 or 8 hours a day is far more important than you think for your hair.
So stop messing up your sleep schedule by watching movies and shows at night!
Stress
Stress can damage a lot of things in your body so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it causes hair loss. Stress can also happen if you are not sleeping and eating well. So again, maintaining a proper lifestyle is important not only for your skin but also for your hair.
If you work too much or have lots of work stress, try to take some time to do the things you love once or twice a week. It is worth it.
Sweat
Sweat causes hair loss. Yes, it does. If you are a workout person you probably know the struggle of having sweaty hair most of the time and not being able to wash it every day. What you can do to prevent the sweat from staying in your hair too long is wear loose hairstyles, try to apply oils like pure coconut hair oil or anything you love every day. Because we cannot wash our hair every day and if we do we’ll just make the situation worse by making it dry or causing more problems.
Hormonal changes
Hormonal changes happen, especially to women now and then. During menstruation, pregnancy etc. Our hormones go through a lot of changes and the only way to control that is through diet and some prescribed medication.
If you think you are going through some hormonal changes and can’t control them, you should probably visit your doctor and ask for advice.
What can I do to prevent hair loss?
Here are some tips to stop or prevent hair loss:
● Maintain your diet and try to live a stress-free and healthy lifestyle
● Make sure get enough protein, vitamin A, and vitamin D
● Try to apply oil every day or every other day to prevent too much hair loss
● Don’t wash your hair too much and don’t use too many chemical products
● Don’t leave sweat as it is and do loose hairstyles
● Eat foods or medications (after asking your doctor) that contain biotin to help with hair growth
Bottom line, most of the time hair loss is caused by the reasons described above. But if you think there’s something more to it, it doesn’t hurt to visit the doctor just in case.
