Simple Beauty Routine When the Sun’s Super-hot Outside

If you live in Chennai, you are aware that the weather is already blazingly hot. But, well, we all know it won’t stop or stay at this temperature for long.

It will become significantly hotter, to the point that we will experience sunburns even if we apply sunscreen. So, you should be concerned about your skin. If you go out every day during the summer, your regular beauty routine will not be enough. So, if you haven’t already, here are some things you should alter or add to your beauty routine.

Beautify routine for the upcoming climate:

Stick to SPF

Yes, of course, you’re going to do it. But we just want to emphasise how critical it is that you wear sunscreen every day. Sunscreen is vital even in the winter, so don’t forget to put it on during the summer. Furthermore, many people forget to reapply for sunscreen after being outside. That is one of the most common causes of red burns on your cheeks or face. If you’re going to be out all day, remember to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.

SPF 30 or above is the best choice for preventing all types of skin issues. Another feature to look for in your sunscreen is ‘broad-spectrum.’ This ensures that you are protected from both UVA and UVB rays. Don’t simply put sunscreen on your face; also apply it to your neck and back of your neck.

Don’t stay away from moisturiser

Some individuals seem to believe that once summer arrives, you don’t need to wear moisturisers because the weather is hot and humid. However, don’t trust them. During the summer, your skin can still become dry and damaged, so it is critical that you continue to moisturise. You can wear a milder moisturiser during the summer to avoid feeling heavy all of the time.

Some specialists recommend using a moisturiser with an SPF of at least 30. This way, you won’t have to carry both the moisturiser and the sunscreen all the time. While you’re outdoors, you can just use moisturiser.

Change your makeup routine

For added skin protection, look for makeup products that contain SPF. And if you’re someone who is always wearing a full face of makeup, try to tone it down a little. Sweating and humidity will only make your face feel bulky. Not to mention that sweat would remove heavy makeup faster. So, just let your skin breathe and wear only what is absolutely necessary. Going lighter can also be beneficial to your skin in the long run.

Remember to exfoliate

Exfoliation is another vital step to take if you have oily or acne-prone skin. Although exfoliating is necessary for everyone, people with oily or acne-prone skin should exfoliate at least twice a week. However, you do have to remember not to overdo it. Many exfoliation products would advise you to use it on a daily basis, but this is not the case. If you overdo it, your skin will split and become dry or tight. So, for normal skin, use it once or twice a week, and for oily and acne-prone skin, use it twice a week.

Wear protective accessories

While it is preferable to stay in the shade as much as possible, that’s not always possible and practical. If you have no choice but to spend hours in the sun, take precautions by purchasing the required accessories. Hats, sunglasses, and dresses made of soft fabrics or with UV absorbers are the best options. Wear loose and soft fabrics rather than garments that are overly tight on your skin. UV-absorbent clothing is available from a variety of brands. So, if you have the means, you should consider investing in them for added protection.
