Masala Corn Chaat
Ingredients
2 cups of corn kernelsGarlicGinger Bay Leaf¼ tsp Black Peppercorns1 tsp ButterTomatoOnionFresh Coriander LeavesSpring Onion¼ tsp Chaat Masala ¼ tsp Cumin Powder¼ tsp Red Chili Powder¼ tsp Rock Salt¼ tsp Black Pepper Powder2 Green Chilli2 tbsp Lemon Juice
Method
- In boiling water, add minced ginger, garlic, black peppercorns, a bay leaf, and a pinch of salt for seasoning. Measure the ingredients to your preference, and once the water is infused with the aroma, add the corn kernels. Let the corn cook until tender.
- Once fully cooked, drain the water and transfer the sweet corn kernels to a bowl.
- Add butter according to your taste, mixing it well with the warm corn, and set it aside.
- Next, combine the chopped vegetables with the sweet corn kernels.
- Season with spices, salt, lemon juice, and fresh coriander. Mix everything well, and your ultimate corn chaat is ready to serve.
Lal Mirch Corn Chaat
Ingredients
2 cups of sweet corn kernels1 tsp butter¼ tsp of lal mirch powder¼ tsp cumin powder2 tbsp lemon juice¾ tsp chaat masala¼ tsp salt for taste
Method
- Boil 2 cups of sweet corn kernels in water for 3-5 minutes.
- Drain off the kernels and transfer to a bowl.
- Add 1 tsp butter and roast the kernels on a medium flame until they turn aromatic and flavourful.
- Once it is well-cooked transfer to a bowl and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Season the butter-tossed kernels with ¼ tablespoons of chilli powder, ¾ tablespoons of chaat masala, ¼ tsp cumin powder, ¼ tablespoons of salt and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
- Mix everything well, and serve when it is fresh.
Italian Style Corn Chaat
Ingredients
2 cups of sweet corn kernels½ cup chopped onions1 cup diced green bell peppers2 tablespoon ketchup1 tsp of Italian seasoning½ tsp salt
Method
- Add 2 cups of tender cooked corn kernels and 2 tablespoons of salted butter to a pan.
- Cover and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
- Stir a few times while cooking.
- Sprinkle 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes on top and serve warm.
However, it is prepared sweetcorn brings out the best in flavour when tossed in butter, salt, herbs and spices.
